About FPA Fellowship for the Performing Arts (FPA) is an arts ministry whose mission is to produce the Bible and classic Christian literature through theatre, audio products and radio. FPA uniqueness is to combine dramatic expression, oral interpretation and compelling narrative storytelling to help audiences reflect more deeply on the Bible and Christian faith..
Our Vision At the root of Christianity is the admission that this world is not what it ought to be, and at the heart of being a Christian is the confession that, “I am part of the problem.” Our vision is to select literature from the Bible and the treasury of Christian history that help us to see our predicament; and to move us toward a more humble understanding of ourselves and a closer relationship with God. For the theatre our vision is to select stories that explore how and why consequential choices are made, and to produce those stories in a manner that engages diverse audiences.
History Fellowship for the Performing Arts (FPA) was incorporated in 1992 as a means to support Max McLean’s work of expressing faith through the dramatic arts. In 1994, FPA produced its first product, the NIV New Testament that has grown into the Listeners Bible line of audio and video products. And in 1995 FPA produced its first radio program that was the forerunner of Listen to the Bible radio that airs on 700 radio facilities worldwide.
